Tragic Loss: Esteemed Argentine Referee Passes Away at 58

We are deeply saddened to report that Hernan Gonzalo Casamiquela, the renowned Argentinean volleyball referee, has tragically passed away at the age of 58. Casamiquela was in Brasilia, Brazil, undertaking his duties as a referee at the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) when he died.

Casamiquela embarked on his international refereeing career in 2007. He was a prominent figure in many World Championships and Olympic Games throughout his illustrious career. At the time of his passing, he was the director of the National Refereeing Secretariat in Argentina, a position he held with distinction.

We, at WorldofVolley, extend our heartfelt condolences to Casamiquela’s family, his colleagues at the Argentinean Volleyball Federation, and everyone in the volleyball community deeply affected by this loss.
