Boca vs. UPCN
On a day when famous football club played the semifinal of Copa Sudamericana against the arch rival River Plate, all eyes of the fans were pointed to La Bombonera stadium. But, after the big derby has ended, they hurried back home, as their volleyball team was playing against UPCN away… And after 1 hour and 45 minutes of tough battle, Boca Juniors has seized a huge win against the reigning champion of Argentina!
Therefore, coach Marcelo Gigante and his boys continued to dream in the new season. Boca Juniors has 3 out of 3 at the start of the Championship and has already beaten Personal Bolivar and UPCN… Two teams which have won last 8 titles in Argentina, and which are definitely the main favorites in this season too.
It is also worth mentioning that Boca Juniors has never won a national title in volleyball, since the 1996 when a professional league was formed. Is it time that famous powerhouse from Buenos Aires adds a volleyball trophy in the cupboard?
