The opposite José Luis González canceled his participation in the preparations for the World League due to family reasons, as he explained to Velasco from Greece, where he finished the season with Panathinaikos AO Athens. González, who has been present with the Argentine NT since the first season of Velasco at its helm (2014), made clear he will be at disposal afterward if needed.
González’s absence is the second blow for Argentina after Facundo Conte decided to take a break.
Santiago Darraidou, a 36-year-old opposite of Ciudad Vóley, will replace González.
