Branik
The team from Maribor ended two-season rule of Calcit Volleyball, claiming their 14th title of Slovenian champions.
Top seed Branik swept No.2 Ljubljana team in playoff finals by 3-0, celebrating the championship title in front of their own crowd after winning Game 3 by 3-1 (21-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-16). The set Branik lost in the third game was the only set they dropped in the final series.
Iza Mlakar, a 21-year-old opposite of Branik, highlighted the last match of the finals with 25 points, followed by another rising star of Slovenian volleyball, a 19-year-old Anita Sobočan, who noted 16. Bulgarian receiver Slavina Koleva topped Calcit’s scorers with 15 points.
