Libertad Burgi Vóley continued to build their roster for the next edition of Liga Argentina in which they will aim for the first championship title. Javier Filardi is the new player that reinforced San Jerónimo Norte team.
A 38-year-old outside hitter, a former captain of UPCN San Juan Vóley Club and member of Argentina national team, is one of the most popular faces of the country’s volleyball ever.
Filardi is the most-titled player in Argentina when it comes to winning national championships (shares this recognition with Demián González), having seven Liga Argentina titles. In addition, he has five Master cups and seven ACLAV Cups on his account while playing for Personal Bolívar and UPCN. Filardi had successes on an international level as well as he clinched the South American Club Championship twice and Pan American Games once with the national team.
He started the last season with UPCN but parted ways with them in an ugly manner and finished the 2017/18 with the Cypriot side Omonia.
Some of Libertad’s transfer plans have gone wrong as they failed to sign Théo Lopes and extend the contract with Tomás López but they managed to hire Maximiliano Gauna and José Santos Júnior.
