ACCH M: Ardakan and Atyrau for title

Teams from Iran and Kazakhstan will play in the final of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship 2018 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

Khatam Ardakan outplayed Vietnam’s Sanest Khanh Hoa in the semifinal in straight sets and for the third time in a row (14th in total), one Iranian team will play in the final of this competition.

Shahram Mahmoud scored a team-high 14 points for Ardakan, while Adel Gholami added 11 points. Tran Trien Chieu chipped in with 11 points for the losing side.

In the second semifinal, Atyrau beat the Pakistani Wapda after five sets and for the third time in history will play in the final of the Asian Club Championship. In 2008 and 2011 they lost from Paykan Teheran, who were most often on the winning post.

 

Semifinals, August 5:

Khatam Ardakan (IRN) vs. Sanest Khánh Hòa (VNM) 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19)

Atyrau (KAZ) vs. Wapda (PAK) 3-2 (14-25, 32-30, 25-16, 18-25, 15-11)
