The 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship commenced today, September 8, in Yazd, Iran. Eight teams from across the continent are competing for the prestigious title and two coveted spots in the 2024 FIVB Men’s Club World Championship, set to be held later this year in India.
The tournament is divided into two groups:
Group A: Shahdab Yazd (Iran), Sporting Club (Kuwait), Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia), and Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan).
Group B: Gas Aljanoob (Iraq), Al-Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar), Kam Air (Afghanistan), and Foolad Sirjan Iranian (Iran).
Opening Day Fixtures:
- Sporting Club (Kuwait) vs. Pavlodar Volleyball Club (Kazakhstan) 1-3 (26-28, 22-25, 25-23, 23-25)
- Gas Aljanoob (Iraq) vs. Al-Rayyan Sports Club (Qatar)
- Shahdab Yazd (Iran) vs. Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi (Indonesia)
- Foolad Sirjan Iranian (Iran) vs. Kam Air (Afghanistan)
The group stage will run until Tuesday, September 10, with teams competing in a round-robin format. Wednesday, September 11, is set as a rest day, with knockout stages beginning on September 12, leading to the grand finale on Sunday, September 15.
