The 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship has reached its final stages, with the last four teams confirmed for the semifinals after an intense day of quarterfinals action in Korat, Thailand.
Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh VC secured the first semifinal spot, overcoming Iran’s Saipa Club in a 3-1 match (24-26, 25-15, 25-18, 25-12). Leading the charge were Sana Anarkulova with 24 points and team captain Yulia Dymar with 17 points.
Vietnam’s LPBank Ninh Binh followed suit with a commanding 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18) victory over compatriots Duc Giang Chemical. Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen shone as one of the top scorers of the tournament, contributing 25 points.
Thailand’s home team, Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC, secured their semifinal berth with a hard-fought 3-2 win (25-13, 25-21, 20-25, 22-25, 15-5) against the Philippines’ Monolith Sky Risers. Sasipapron Janthawisut led the team with 25 points, while Alyssa Jae Solomon put up 22 points for the losing side.
Japan’s NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki rounded off the semifinal lineup, dominating Hong Kong’s Kwai Tsing with a straight-set win (25-9, 25-10, 25-11). Haruko Sasaki, Ai Hirota, and Moeka Kinoe were key contributors in their team’s success.
These four teams—Kuanysh VC, LPBank Ninh Binh, Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC, and NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki—will now compete for the chance to represent the AVC at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship in China this December.
