Melbourne University Blues won the fifth straight Women’s Australian Volleyball League (AVL) title, sixth overall, to break their own championship record. In the finals at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, the Uni Blues (second seed, Southern Conference) had no trouble against Western Australia Pearls (top seed, Southern Conference), who did not manage to reclaim the gold medal which they won in 2011 – 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-15). The „Volleyroos“ National Team member Hannah Martin upgraded the championship title with MVP of the finals award.
