Chinese Men’s League: Shandong stand in way of Shanghai’s unbeaten run, Tillie routs Beijing to 6 of 6

Shanghai vs. Shandong

Shandong took revenge on the titleholders Shanghai for the defeat that occurred on November 19 – 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23). Furthermore, Shandong skipped Shanghai in Pool A rankings and settled at the second place with 5-2 (15 points). Wang Jingyi was the most deserving player for the win of Shandong as he scored 21 points. The Frenchman Julien Lyneel and Zhang Zhejia (4 kill blocks) scored 14 apiece for Shanghai.

Zhejiang remained at the top of Pool A rankings with 5-1 (16 points). Today, they swept Hubei with 15 points from an opposite Wu Hao.

By beating Jiangsu with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21) in Pool B, Beijing now stand as the only undefeated side in China with 6-0 (17 points). France National Team member Kévin Tillie highlighted Beijing with 18 points, which was one point more than Jiangsu’s Zhou Liying.

Foreign duo Matteo Martino – Artur Udrys made sure that Guangdong still breath down Beijing’s neck in Pool B standings with 5-1 (14 points). Both scored 16 points versus Fujian and stood out in blocking – Belarusian made 5 kill blocks, while Italian made 4.

Du Kunyu managed to pour in 24 points for Henan, which can undoubtedly fall into the group of outstanding displays this season knowing the fact that his team achieved a straight-set win over Liaoning.
