Beijing-vs-Guangdong
Beijing (Zeng Chunlei 14 points) achieved the fourth win in as many matches in Stage 2 of the Chinese women’s volleyball league. They swept Guangdong (Serbian Sanja Bursać 15 points) by a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-17).
Shanghai (Korean Kim Yeon-Koung 26 points) continued to breathe down Beijing’s neck as they beat the visiting side Bayi (Liu Yanhan 21 points, Yian Xinyue 6 kill blocks) in four sets.
Tianjin (Li Yingying 31 points, Yao Di 5 kill blocks) made a comeback to inflict the first defeat to Liaoning (Duan Fang 27 points, Yan Ni 7 kill blocks), 3-2.
Now, three teams have 10 points at the top of the standings: Beijing, Shanghai, and Liaoning, but with Beijing having the best both win-loss and set ratio.
The defending champions Jiangsu (Zhang Changning 31 points) emerged as the winners form a duel against the hosts Zhejiang (Li Jing 26 points, Yang Zhou 5 kill blocks), 3-1.
