Sesc RJ Flamengo, the Brazilian record-holders for the number of women’s volleyball championship titles, strengthened their roster for 2020/21 with the Colombia National Team libero.

Right after learning that their starting libero Natália Araújo ’Natinha’ will miss out the entire season due to a right knee cross ligament injury for which she’ll undergo surgery, Sesc Flamengo acted on the transfer market. The 12-time Superliga titleholders hired Colombian libero Camila Gómez.

A 25-year-old player has been in the United States since 2016. Gómez went to Miami Dade College for two years before deciding to study economics at Texas A&M University and compete for its volleyball team, the Aggies, in the NCAA.

She stood out at the 2015 and 2017 South American Championship and last year’s Pan American Games, being elected Best Libero on all three events.
