Dentil Praia Clube secured a place in the Superliga playoff final after defeating Sesc RJ Flamengo 3-2 in a dramatic semifinal decider at Maracanãzinho.
In front of 9,742 fans, Praia completed the best-of-three series 2-1 and advanced to the championship match, where it will face Gerdau Minas.
American opposite Morgan Fingall led Praia with 31 points, including four aces. Tainara Santos and Simone Lee scored 23 points each for Flamengo.
Praia claimed the opening two sets in tightly contested fashion before Flamengo fought back strongly. The home side took the third set and dominated the fourth to force a tie-break.
Flamengo led 11-8 in the deciding set, but Praia responded with a late comeback and sealed the victory.
