A member of Sada Cruzeiro Yoandy Leal is ready to play for Brazilian national team as he confirmed after a game against UFJF.

Leal

Leal

All the paperwork about the citizenship has been completed. He has huge chance to play for Brazil. Of course, if he gets support from FIVB and the head coach Bernardo Rezende.

He will not be the first Cuban player to play for other national team. Osmany Juantorena has made a debut for Italy in 2015, while Poland is still waiting for Wilfredo Leon, who has the permission to play for Antiga’s team.

In that case, Brazil will have these receivers  – Lucarelli, Fonteles, Murilo, Douglas Souza, Loh and LEAL

What’s your opinion about this – Do Brazil need Cuban star?

It is really too bad that they do not play for Cuba. The problem is Cuba. I don’t think Italy, Poland, or Brazil require foreign born players to compete. It is really unfortunate in an Olympic qualification year where 3 top European teams will be left at home. The Norceca zone will obviously benefit with my country (Canada) having a great opportunity to qualify for there first Olympics since 1984.
