After Sergey Tetyukhin, libero Aleksey Verbov decided it was time for younger players to step in.

„That was my last match for the national team. It’s time to give way to younger players,“ the 34-year-old Zenit Kazan player stated for „Sport-Express“.

Verbov has been a member of Russia NT since 2003. During that period he grabbed 10 medals, including one gold medal (in the 2013 CEV European Championship).
