An experienced 39-year-old setter Marlon Yared joined the team that finished sixth in Superliga last season. One-time FIVB World champions came to the club, whose jersey he has already worn two times (2004-2006 and 2010/11), from the Russian side Belogorie Belgorod where he spent second half of the 2016/2017 season.
Another veteran strengthened Minas – a 33-year-old receiver Robinson Dvoranen ’Bob’ who came from league’s rivals Montes Claros Vôlei.
With the arrival of these two players, which are the only newcomers in the club, Minas completed the roster for 2017/18:
Middle blockers: Flávio Gualberto, Pétrus da Silva and Daniel Mascarenhas
Opposites: Felipe Roque and Aboubacar Neto ‘Abouba’
Receivers: Thiago Vanole, Yordan Bisset (CUB) and Robinson Dvoranen ’Bob’
Setters: Eduardo Carísio, Mateus Winck and Marlon Yared
Libero: Rogério Filho ‘Rogerinho’
Minas will also signed-up several players from their youth team for Superliga: receivers Erick Costa, Henrique Honorato and Davy Moraes middle blocker Pingo and liber Maique Nascimento. Coach Nery Tambeiro will stay at the helm of Minas.
