EUROVOLLEY 2019 W: Netherlands win, Maret shares injury update, Spain barely avoid defeat

POOL C: 

The Netherlands were too strong for the Estonian girls, who just watched the dance of the Dutch girls. Maret Grothues-Balkestein, who picked up an ankle injury yesterday, has shared the news regarding her injury. 

She has written on Twitter:

Nika Dalderop was the best scorer of the game with 18 points. 

In the same Pool, Croatia scored also an important win, beating Romania in four sets 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22. Lucija Mlinar led Croatia with 22 points, while in Romania Maria Baciu had 24 points.

POOL D:

Spain’s win over Switzerland almost means the 8th finals! They managed to make a huge comeback and to return from 0-2 to 3-2 against the Swiss girls (22-25, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-13).

Jessica Rivero had a great performance, scoring 28 points, while on the other side Maja Storck scored 26 points and Laura Kuenzler had 22 points.

As expected, Germany defeated Slovakia, a team that suffered the first defeat at this EuroVolley. Jennifer Gerties had the best display in Germany with 21 points, while Maria Kostelanska had 13 points on the other side.
