In the first leg of the 3rd Round of the 2020 CEV Champions League, Ukrainian titleholders Khimik Yuzhny pulled out a victory against the Czech side of VK UP Olomouc on the road despite losing the score in sets twice: 3-2 (22-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13). Now, the team that came back from 0-3 against Croatian Mladost Zagreb in the first leg of the 2nd Round and achieved a Golden Set victory, has gotten much closer to the group stage of the prestigious continental event.
Yuliya Boyko stood out in Khimik with 25 points for which she needed to hit as much as 56 times! Teenage opposite hitter Gabriela Orvošová led Olomouc with 26 points, while Bulgarian Veronika Bezhandolska made 6 kill blocks. The rematch will be held on October 29.
