The rematch of the 2020 CEV Men’s Champions League quarterfinals between Italy’s Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia and Russia’s Fakel Novy Urengoy found its place in the list of postponed matches of European cups due to spread of coronavirus that severely struck Italy. Although initially, the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) said the encounter in Italy will take place as scheduled, Perugia informed of a different decision of the governing volleyball body in the Old Continent.
“Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia informs that it has received official communication from the CEV in regard to the Perugia – Novy Urengoy match which was scheduled for tomorrow March 10 at 20:30 at PalaBarton. The CEV announces that this match won’t take place and that it will inform for further decisions on the matter,“ the „Block Devils“ posted on their website.
Recall that Fakel asked CEV to relocate or postpone the match in question.
