SSC Palmberg Schwerin achieved an important win in Pool A of the 2021 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League.

Surprisingly, the leaders of the Polish league, Developres SkyRes Rzeszów, lost to Germany’s SSC Palmberg Schwerin by a 3-1 in the first of the series matches of Pool A in a course of three successive days. Developres won the opening set in Florence, Italy, but later, Schwerin completely dominated the court. Partially, it was 25-27, 25-18, 25-18, and 25-18.

The top scorers for the Bundesliga side, but also of the match overall, were Hungarian international Gréta Szakmáry and American Hayley Spelman with 20 points each. The former set up 4 blocks.

The other match in this pool ended with a win of the hosts Savino Del Bene Scandicci over countrymen Unet e-work Busto Arsizio. The losing side failed to capitalize on the match point in the fifth set. The Pole Magdalena Stysiak highlighted Scandicci with 25 points of which 6 came from the service.
