Supported by the home crowd in Plovdiv, the national team of Bulgaria defeated Spain 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-21) in its second match of Pool B at the CEV Women’s EuroVolley 2021. Thus, Ivan Petkov’s ladies recorded another three points to their assets and continued pursuing leader Poland (3-0, nine points) in the standings. However, even if Bulgaria remains in the current position, it will advance to the 1/8 finals. It is quite the opposite situation for Spain, who is fifth in the pool with no points (two losses). Emiliya Dimitrova from Bulgaria and Maria Segura Pallerés on the losing side were the only players in double digits on the scoresheet with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Lucía Varela Gómez set up 4 blocks for Spain.

Sweden has started the EuroVolley really strong. After the thrilling victory over Finland, the Swedes followed it up by defeating Pool D host Romania with a clear 3-0 in sets. Romania was always one step behind its rival in the match, remaining winless in the tournament. Isabelle Haak highlighted Sweden with 22 points, including 4 aces. Her sister Anna made 71 % reception (14 digs, one error, 21 % excellent). Alexia Ioana Căruțașu stopped at 10 points on the losing side.
