Serbia and Turkey staged a super-exciting semi-final clash at the 2021 CEV Women’s Volleyball European Championship in which the former prevailed thanks to a phenomenal display of Tijana Bošković.
The defending champion Serbia secured a medal at the CEV Women’s EuroVolley 2021 but it will aim to make it gold for the third time in a row. In the semi-finals, at home soil in Belgrade in front of more than 7,000 spectators, the team commanded by Zoran Terzić prevailed over Turkey in another exciting match between these two rivals: 3-1 (32-34, 28-26, 25-23, 25-13).
Whenever Serbia and Turkey meet, the top-class volleyball is guaranteed (the EuroVolley final from two years ago still sits in memory of all volleyball enthusiasts). The first set lasted for as many as 42 minutes and in it, Serbia’s star Tijana Bošković scored as many as 15 points, finishing the match with 39! She attacked 69 times (54% effectiveness). Ebrar Karakurt tallied 23 points for Turkey, while Eda Erdem Dündar set up four blocks.
The opponent of Serbia in the final will be the winner of the match Italy vs The Netherlands (started at 8 p.m. CET).
