Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn-Koźle (ZAKSA) achieved a major victory in the second round of the group stage of the 2022 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League.
Poland’s ZAKSA achieved an outstanding victory in the second round of the group stage of the CEV Champions League Volley 2022 | Men. In Pool C, Gheorghe Crețu’s players, the titleholders, defeated Lokomotiv Novosibirsk after a 24-hour journey to Siberia. ZAKSA prevailed in four sets over Russian bronze-medalists and are at two out of two in the pool. Surprisingly, ’The Railmen’ are at 0-2. Łukasz Kaczmarek scored 23 points for the PlusLiga vice-champions, while Marcin Janusz served four aces.
Jastrzębski Węgiel made sure that Polish sides finish today’s program of the Champions League with 100% success as they swept Belgium’s Knack Roeselare on the road in Pool A, reaching 2-0.
Poland’s teams had a perfect day, but the Belgians didn’t. Apart from Roeselare, another representative of the country in the competition was defeated. VC Greenyard Maaseik succumbed to Russia’s Dinamo Moscow in Pool B with a score of 0-3 (20-25, 22-25, 18-25).
