VakıfBank İstanbul stormed past Finnish LP Salo (Viesti) in Round 4 of the 2022 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League – Pool B.
Even a combined lineup of VakıfBank, consisting of regular starters and some players from the “B“ team, was so strong that it swept Finland’s Viesti and left them on a single-digit number of points in the first set. Thus, the Turkish side kept a clean sheet in Pool B of the CEV Champions League Volley 2022 | Women (4-0) and got close to mathematically securing a spot in the playoffs in the penultimate round. American Chiaka Ogbogu top-scored VakıfBank with 20 points, including 5 blocks. Brazilian Gabriela Guimarães ’Gabi’ made 77% attack (10/13).
The two more teams achieved a straight-set win on today’s schedule: Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Poland’s Grupa Azoty Chemik Police. The former is at 4-0 in Pool C, while the TAURON Liga champions are at 3-1 in Pool E.
