A press conference of the Croatian Volleyball Federation was held in Varaždin. Expert secretary Frane Žanić, head coach Cedric Enard and captain of the Croatian national team Marko Sedlaček spoke at the press conference.
“The technical organization of the tournament itself is in the best order. We did everything we could to start the tournament today. We have experience in organizing large competitions from previous years. We have provided the best for all national teams when it comes to accommodation, transport and conditions in the Arena itself! ”- reveals Frane Žanić, expert secretary of CVF.
The Final Four starts on Saturday, June 18 at 5 pm with a match between the Czech Republic and Ukraine, while Croatia will play against Turkey at 8 pm.
“At the moment, I am happy with the situation in our national team. The game is on a good path, we played well in the previous four games. Now here’s the Final Four and we’ll see what reality really is. I remember Turkey very well because as a coach I lost to them last year in the Final! ”– says coach Cedric Enard and adds; “Turkey is a strong team with great experience and talent, a tough opponent. One of the toughest opponents in the league. We analyze the parts of the game where we are not good yet and we try to fix it. We are focused on our game, on Friday we will be more focused on Turkey. We played against such experienced and strong teams, the mental part will decide here. We need to offer them strong resistance! ”
The program in Arena Varaždin on Sunday starts with a match for third place at 3 pm, while the finals will be played at 8.30 pm.
“We deserved to play in the Final Four. Maybe we played a little relieved because we knew we were the hosts of the Final Four. We have certainly shown that we deserve to be here. We haven’t shown the best yet. We have a place for progress, we have shown unity! ”- reveals captain Marko Sedlaček and adds: “The atmosphere among all of us is great. We clicked in a short period of time. We work well, the most important thing is to keep this atmosphere. We are happy to go to every training session. I spent last year in Turkey, I know the coach and every player. They are the best team in the league. But we play 30 percent better with the audience. If there are more of them, it will be easier for us to play. I invite everyone to cheer us on!”
