VakifBank made a huge step towards the quarterfinals of the CEV Champions League. In the 1st match of the Play Off stage played in Łódź, Vakifbank defeated ŁKS Commercecon Łódź 3-0 (25-22 25-12 26-24). Paola Egonu from VakifBank was the match top scorer with 21 points (49 % attack).
„It was an important win for us, especially that we were playing away. We knew that it will be difficult match. ŁKS in home plays very good and they showed, that they never give up. Somtimes in sets we were doing some gap, but they always trying to come back and pushing us, especially on service. We are very happy, but the job is not done. Still we have a match in home and that’s good for us. I also want to dedicate this win to people in Turkey, it’s important to bring this win for them.” said Gabriela Guimaraes, captain of VakifBank.
Today, the third match of the Play Off phase is scheduled between Volero Le Cannet and Developers Rzeszów.
