C.S.M. Volei Alba Blaj, Savino del Bene Scandicci and THY Istanbul secured their place at the semifinals of the CEV Cup.
THY Istanbul secured their spot in the next stage of the competition by defeating French team Volley Mulhouse Alsace 3-0. This victory mirrored their win in the previous week’s home match in France.
Following their significant 3-0 lead in the first match, Savino del Bene Scandicci needed to win only two sets in the second leg match against SC Potsdam. Although Savino del Bene Scandicci lost their rhythm and the third set, they managed to make a comeback in the fourth set, ultimately winning the match 3-1.
CS Volei Alba Blaj advanced to the semifinals after winning 3-2 against Budowlani Lodz. The Romanians had won the first match 3-1 and with two victories in hand, were able to move forward.
The final quarterfinal match will take place tomorrow when Olympiacos Piraeus hosts C.S.M. Targoviste. C.S.M. Targoviste previously won 3-2 in their first encounter against Olympiacos Piraeus.
