Fenerbahçe Opet Istanbul took a significant stride towards the semifinals by winning the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano. The Turkish team put up an impressive display, dominating their opponents in straight sets (25-19 25-17 25-19). The match was an excellent showcase of the team’s serve and attacking prowess, led by three standout players, Vargas, Fedorovtseva and Ana Cristina Menezes.

Arina Fedorovtseva, in particular, stood out as the match’s top scorer with 19 points, including 4 aces and 1 block. Melissa Vargas scored 17 points, with an impressive 54% attack rate and 2 aces, while Ana Cristina Menezes Oliveira de Souza contributed 16 points with 56% attack, 1 ace and 1 block. In contrast, Isabelle Haak was the most effective player for Conegliano, scoring 10 points with a 33% attack rate.

Fenerbahçe’s well-earned victory was a testament to the team’s impressive performance, particularly in their serve and attacking play. The trio of Vargas, Fedorovtseva, and Ana Cristina were almost unstoppable, leaving Conegliano struggling to keep up with the pace of the match.
