In a dominant display, VakıfBank secured their spot in the CEV Champions League quarter-finals by defeating Polish team PGE Rysice Rzeszow with a sweeping victory. The first match of the playoff round saw VakıfBank winning without dropping a set. The rematch at the VakıfBank Sports Palace ended in a similar fashion, with the team once again overpowering their opponents 3-0.

VakifBank next challenge lies against Italian powerhouse Imoco Conegliano in what promises to be a thrilling quarter-final match.

The match against Rzeszow showed VakıfBank’s strength. From the start, VakifBank, led by standout performances from Jordan Thompson and MVP Ali Frantti, took control. Despite a brief setback in the third set, VakıfBank demonstrated resilience and a powerful comeback to clinch the match 3-0.

Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti praised the team’s ability to recover from behind, highlighting the depth of the squad and the contributions from both starters and substitutes. Team captain Gabi Guimaraes also credited the home crowd for their energy and support, which played important role in their victory.
