Slovenian champions, Calcit Volley faced another tough night in the Women’s Champions League, losing their fifth straight match. This time, Pool C leaders VakifBank proved too strong, winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-23). Despite the defeat, the Slovenian champions left the court with heads held high after delivering one of their most spirited performances of the season.
VakifBank’s Kiera Van Ryk was named MVP of the match and led the scoring with 17 points, while Caterina Bosetti contributed 10 points for a convincing victory. On the home team, CALCIT Kamnik, the standout player was Mika Grbavica with 16 points, followed by Maša Pucelj with 14.
Over in Pool D, Fenerbahçe continued their flawless streak with a thrilling 3-1 comeback win against Budowlani Łódź in Poland (21-25, 25-19, 25-13, 26-24). The Turkish giants have now won all five of their matches and secured a spot in the quarterfinals. Magdalena Stysiak started strong with 10 points, while Melissa Vargas added 15 after coming off the bench in the third set. For Łódź, Terry Enweonwu led with 17 points.
