Novara Dominates with Unbeaten Run
Italian powerhouse Igor Gorgonzola Novara, last season’s CEV Challenge Cup winners, cruised past Maritza Plovdiv with two commanding 3-0 victories. Taylor Mims led the charge with 16 points. They will now face THY Istanbul in the semifinals.
THY Istanbul’s Stunning Comeback
After losing the first leg 3-1 against BKS Bostik ZGO Bielsko-Biała, THY Istanbul responded with a clean 3-0 home win (25-19, 25-15, 25-20) to force a golden set, where they dominated 15-7. Anthí Vasilantonáki starred with 21 points, helping THY book a showdown with Novara.
Vasas Óbuda Budapest Prevails in Thriller
Despite losing 3-2 to Moya Radomka Radom in the second leg, Hungarian side Vasas Óbuda Budapest advanced thanks to their earlier 3-1 win. Fatoumatta Sillah (29 points) and Taylor Bannister (23 points) played crucial roles in their comeback, taking key sets 27-25 and 31-29.
CS Volei Alba Blaj Secures Semifinal Spot
Alba Blaj eased past FC Porto after a 3-0 first-leg win, sealing qualification with a 3-1 second-leg victory. Despite dropping the second set 23-25, they dominated the third 25-9 and closed out the match 25-22. They now face Vasas Óbuda Budapest in the semifinals.
