Developres Rzeszów and Numia Vero Volley Milano have clinched the final two spots in the CEV Champions League Volley 2025 – Women quarterfinals after dominant performances against German sides Allianz MTV Stuttgart and SSC Palmberg Schwerin.
Developres Rzeszów Sweeps Stuttgart (3-0: 25-20, 25-18, 25-22)
Following a 3-1 win in the first leg, Developres needed just two sets to advance. They started strong, with Monika Fedusio, and Bruna Honorio leading the attack. Despite a late push from Krystal Rivers, Rzeszów comfortably sealed the first two sets (25-20, 25-18) to secure their quarterfinal place. Honorio’s decisive attack ended the third set 25-22, completing the sweep.
Honorio was named MVP with 14 points, while Rivers led Stuttgart with 14 points.
Vero Volley Milano Overcomes Schwerin (3-0: 25-18, 25-21, 26-24)
Milano also needed two sets to qualify but faced a tougher challenge from Schwerin. A strong serve run by Nika Daalderop shifted momentum in the first set (25-18). Schwerin fought back, taking a 13-9 lead in the second, but Milano responded to win 25-21 and book their quarterfinal spot.
Despite being eliminated, Schwerin pushed hard in the third set, leading 21-16, but Milano staged a late comeback to clinch it 26-24. Anna Smrek (10 points, MVP) and Pimpichaya Kokram (10 points, Schwerin’s top scorer) stood out.
The quarterfinals start in two weeks, with Milano reaching this stage for the fourth time, and Rzeszów making their third appearance. The Final Four will be held in Istanbul on May 3-4, 2025.
