The CEV Champions League Women enters a decisive phase as Numia Vero Volley Milano faces Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul in the quarter-finals. The first leg kicks off on Tuesday, March 4, at 20:30 CET, at Allianz Cloud in Milan.
Milano, last season’s finalist, aims for another deep run but must overcome a tough Eczacibasi squad seeking its first Champions League title in a decade. Led by Paola Egonu, Milano secured their quarter-final spot after defeating SSC Palmberg Schwerin in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Tijana Bošković’s Eczacibasi dominated their group, winning all six matches and dropping just one set.
This showdown will also mark a highly anticipated rematch between Egonu and Bošković, two of the world’s top scorers, last seen facing off in the Paris 2024 Olympic quarter-finals.
Eczacibasi boasts a strong history, having reached the semi-finals in the past two seasons, while Milano eliminated Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce last year to reach the final.
With a ticket to the semi-finals at stake, both teams are prepared for an intense battle. Fans can expect high-level volleyball and a thrilling encounter in Milan before the return leg in Istanbul.
