Hurrikaani vs. Trentino
In the 1st leg of the 16th Finals, Italian Diatec Trentino, Turkish Fenerbahçe İstanbul and Belgian Topvolley Callant Antwerp got straight-set wins while Greek P.A.O.K. Thessaloniki achieved a 3-1 victory. They all made a gigantic step to advancing to the next round while 2nd leg of Olympiacos Piraeus – Gazprom-Yugra Surgut, in Russia, will be highly interesting after tonight’s 3-2 for the Greek side.
Filippo Lanza and Argentinian Sebastián Solé led Trentino in 3-0 triumph over Finnish Hurrikaani Loimaa with 13 points each.
Fenerbahçe prevailed 3-0 over Israeli Hapoel Mate-Asher Akko on the wings of Metin Toy (18 points).
Antwerp swept 3-0 Serbian Crvena zvezda Beograd thanks to 27 points from Jolan Cox.
P.A.O.K. are not far from above mentioned trio although they lost one set against another Serbian representatives Novi Pazar. Charalampos Sakoglou highlightes Greek side with 20 points.
Olympiacos came back from 1-2 against Yugra pushed by Colombian Liberman Agámez, who had 27 points.
