Ziraat vs. Jedinstvo
Ziraat achieved a double straight-set win over Jedinstvo to advance to the quarterfinals. In the second leg in the Turkish capital city, it was 25-7, 25-13, 25-9! Experienced Dutch receiver Jeroen Rauwerdink was a star figure in the winning team with 16 points. Ziraat had 13 aces comparing none from Jedinstvo!
French side Chaumont 52 routinely eliminated Benfica Lisboa. After beating rivals 3-0 in the first leg, Chaumont took first two sets after a huge fight in rematch at home which was enough to go through, 2-3. French volleyball hope Stéphen Boyer highlighted winners with 21 points.
IBB London from England did not give up easily against Dutch Draisma Dynamo but had to shake hands with the rivals at the end. The Londoners prevailed in the second leg 3-2 but lost 3-1 in the first match.
A true drama was seen in Croatia where home side Mladost Zagreb fully recovered from a straight-set loss from Slovakian Spartak Myjava in the first leg and responed in kind in rematch. So, golden set had to decide and visitors qualified for the quarterfinals with by finishing it 22-20.
