WCH 2018 M: Belgium earn the last spot from Europe by beating direct rivals Estonia

Belgian Men’s National Team became the last European representatives in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria by beating direct rivals for the last remained spot, Estonia.

Belgium beat Estonia, this year’s FIVB World League – Group 3 winners, in the last round of Pool G of the European Qualifiers, in front of an own crowd in Kortrijk, although they only needed to take a 2-1 lead to reach their goal.

Thus, the “Red Dragons” joined World Champs hosts Italy and Bulgaria, title holders Poland and the winners of the Qualifiers held in May: France, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Russia, Serbia, and Finland as European representatives in the tournament.

Gert van Walle scored 13 points (3 aces) for the winning side, while Robert Täht made 20 for Estonia.
