The final day of the Preliminary Round of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix – Group 1 has brought a lot of excitement as three teams had a chance to claim the last two remained spots for the Final Six in Nanjing, China.

Firstly Japan beat Russia 3-2 to keep their Final Six chances alive but they needed Brazil or The Netherlands to lose their games to secure the spot there, which ultimately did not happen.

Brazil downed USA 3-1 (25-20, 25-13, 18-25, 25-18), thanks to 19 points from Natália Pereira, while The Netherlands prevailed in a huge fight against Belgium 3-2 (29-27, 18-25, 25-12, 22-25, 15-8) as Anne Buijs scored 23 points. Thus, both Brazil and The Netherlands will play Final Six, joining hosts China, Serbia, USA, and Italy who booked their F6 tickets earlier.
