Konarski scored 10 points in the defeat of Poland:

“We prepared for this game to win it and to start this competition in a good way but this time Serbia were better, they deserved this 3-0 victory. We had our chances in the second and third sets but we had so many mistakes in service, reception, attacks… Serbia played better and we couldn’t fight with them.”

Do you think that this defeat is the result of the pressure from Polish media and the fans?

No. We are maybe young but we are playing volleyball all the time. We won before three years ago but this time was different. We didn’t feel pressure, we just wanted to play good volleyball and this time we didn’t.

What are your expectations for the rest of the tournament?

I expect to win the next two games and to go to the next stage and the next… I hope that we will play better; no I know that we can play better and to come to the end.

Some say that you made some jokes with the Serbian team when you showed up at their training session, telling that you are injured?

It’s a minor injury, every day I feel the pain but it’s nothing special. No, I didn’t make any tricks or joke, for me is better to practice not to watch the team at the practice
