The „Zbornaya“ is determined to erase all poor results that they have achieved in the last two years (4th in the 2016 Rio Olympics, 7th in 2016 FIVB World League, 5th in the 2017 FIVB World League, 6th in the 2015 CEV European Championship), in EuroVolley 2017.

The Russian National Team swept the runners-up from the last Continental Championship, Slovenia, in the quarter-finals of this year’s edition of a tournament, keeping the unbeaten record of 4 wins and not dropping a single set while doing so, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-19).

Russia dominated offensively, making 56% of excellent attacks (Slovenia made 37%), and in blocking, 13-2!

Maksim Mikhailov scored 13 points for the „Zbornaya“, who will play the semis against the winners of Italy vs. Belgium. As for Slovenia, who shocked the hosts Poland in the Playoffs, yesterday, Tine Urnaut noted 12 points.
