The American subscription video on demand service “Hulu”, which is offered to the U.S. and Japanese users only, will give a chance to its subscribers in Japan to watch the games in both the 2017 Men’s and Women’s FIVB Grand Champions Cup, which will be held in their country, in four different views!

The idea was called the “4 Eyes of Hulu” and will allow the viewers to watch the matches with:

–         INTERNATIONAL EYE where the users will be able to listen to the sound in the gymnasium as it is;

–         YOUR EYE which will keep the track of one player determined by prior voting before each game;

–         NET EYE which will allow the viewers to see the picture from a compact camera attached to net;

–         TACTICAL EYE which shows the game seen from the back of the athlete.

For instance, by choosing the NET EYE, the users will be able to see the players’ expressions when they jump in the block or see the blockers that suddenly jump from the bottom of the screen.

How cool is this!

The 2017 Women’s FIVB Grand Champions Cup will be played on September 5-10 in Tokyo and Nagoya, while the Men’s tournament will set off on September 12-17 in Nagoya and Osaka.

I would appreciate more if another Japanese firm made again the official FIVB ball which will be recognizable in any place and moment, with a clear contrast from surrounding. 20 years of this pantomime volleyball is enough… Our eyes /sight suffer.
However there is also an idea to incorporate into this technical innovation a possibility to select /adjust/ a color and design of a ball according to the TV/Internet viewer wish and preference…

Re: @John Doek
Can you explain the difference from the ball in the past from the current ball? Thank you.

Until 1998 was used the white ball, without any pattern. You can find on You Tube all final matches from Olympic games since 1976. Then you can compare a huge difference in a contrast, recognizability with current ones for TV/Internet viewers..In past there was no disappearing, and blurring optical illusions like nowadays ones have, when the ball is quick and rotates..
Now similar ball, however with some red and green pattern was used during Brazil L. Cup, see on You Tube:
Taubaté x Sesi – Final 2 – Campeonato Paulista de Vôlei Masculino 2016.
Now without slow motion replays it not possible to follow volleyball.

Re: @John Doek
I just watched the game u recommended and vowww there`s a huge difference for sure, the white ball is so much better and you can clearly see the ball all the time during the game. FIVB should use the white ball.
