“Russia is the best team at this European Championship, but I have to be fair, because I am a former coach of Germany, and I hope that their team will be the eventual winners tomorrow. I have many friends there, but Russia is physically too strong. At this stage, we cannot pose a threat to Russia. We must be honest: we are one or two steps behind them,” says Heynen.
