In a final before the final of the 2018 CEV Champions League, Zenit Kazan scored a straight-set win against Sir Colussi Sicoma Perugia, confirming to be the favorite No.1 for the title. Especially, knowing they have a support of 7,000 fans at Basket Hall, the venue in which the Final Four is held.

„It looked like we were a bit fresher than Perugia, plus León scored some important points. The final with Civitanova? We will have an advantage thanks to the home hall because the atmosphere is incredible. But, we played Civitanova in the final of the Club World Championship, and they are not less formidable opponent than Perugia,“ Aleksandr Butko, the captain of Zenit, stated after the semis vs. Perugia.
