The top-seed VaLePa Sastamala made a sweep against No.6 Team Lakkapää in the Mestaruusliiga 2017/2018 playoff semifinals by winning the series 4-0. In addition, VaLePa prevailed in all four encounters in straight sets. Game 4 ended partially 25-17, 25-19, 25-14.
Urpo Sivula topped the winning side with 14 points. Mikko Esko added 5 kill blocks.
In the other semifinal, No.4 Hurrikaani-Loimaa are close to a stunner as they reached a 3-0 in the series against No.2 Sampo Volley. Game 3 ended with the tie-break.
Antti Ropponen topped Hurrikaani with 16 points. Karri Kutinlahti made 4 kill blocks. Timo Leikas scored 26 points for Sampo, while Aleksi Kaatrasalo made 4 kill blocks.
