In the new final match, they defeated Hylte in straight sets and finished series with 3-1. This is their fifth title in the history of the club while their opponents lost the chance to repeat the success from 2014.
The star and team captain Kaleigh Nelson, who has been elected to this year’s players in the elite series, took care of the last ball to set a new gold.
“It was a good feeling, but anyone could have reached the final point. This was a team effort” she said and added: “I feel amazing. I’ve had this in my mind since I arrived, it really feels really good when hard work gives the result. I think we wanted it more than Hylte / Halmstad. Both teams are good, but we had more fighting spirit and won. There was very much energy in this game, it was really fun to play.”
Engelholm – Hylte/Halmstad 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-16)
Top scorers: Tess Nicole Rountree 19, Kaleigh Nelson 17, Emily Morgan Sklar 8; Daniele Kovacs De Lima 9, Julia Brown 8, Karis Watson 8.
