The top-seed Teruel won Game 3 of the Superliga 2017-18 playoff finals by a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21) against No.3 Almería to close the series with a sweep. Thus, the team from an autonomous community Aragón completed the hat-trick of the trophies this season in Spain – national Super cup, national cup, and the national league – for the first time in 27 years of the club existence.
The Venezuelan Thomas Ereú topped Teruel in Game 3 with 21 points, followed by Andrés Villena with 16 points. Teruel made 73% reception as a team with Brazilian Vinícius Noronha making 80% (20 digs, 45% excellent) and Ereú making 79% (48 digs, 54% excellent). Jorge Almansa and Brazilian Thiago Maciel scored 19 points apiece for Almería.
Teruel lost only one game in Superliga regular season (21-1) and none in the playoffs: 3-0 in the series of the semifinals against No.4 Río Duero Soria and 3-0 in the finals against Almería.
This was the sixth Superliga title for Teruel, the first one after 2014.
