Bulgaria have won three points in their first game at the World Championship!

Bulgaria - Finland

Bulgaria – Finland

A few minutes after the victory of Italy over Japan, Bulgaria have also clinched the first game at their court in Varna!

At the beginning of their 18th appearance at the World Championship, Plamen Konstantinov’s side defeated Finland in straight sets, even though we expected a better performance and much more resistance from Samuelvo’s team.

Bulgaria controlled the situation on the court during the whole game. The fans also gave a huge support to the Bulgarians in Varna which was a very important segment for the home team.

Valentin Bratoev (16 points), Nikolay Uchikov (12) and Todor Skrimov (11) were the players with double digits in the home team, while Urpo Sivula had 9 on the other side.

POOL D, first round:

Bulgaria – Finland 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-22)

Iran – Puerto Rico 16:00

Cuba – Poland 19:30
