WCH 2018 M: What a comeback of Brazil – from 0-2 to 3-2 to beat Russia!

by WoV

Brazil have scored a huge victory at the start of the third stage of the World Championship!

Brazil vs. Russia

Brazil vs. Russia

Even though Brazil were behind by two, they didn’t lose a hope, managing to make a comeback from 0-2 to 3-2!

Russia opened the game in a much better way, controlling the first set all the time and taking the lead 1-0! In the second set, Russia continued performing at a high level, destroying the reception of the rival and doubling the lead in sets 2-0.

Brazil didn’t want to surrender that easy. Renan Dal Zotto has changed the setter (William in, Rezende out) who has given something new to the team.

Firstly, Brazil took the third set to stay in the game and afterwards took the fourth as well to tie the score and to force the tie-break.

In the fifth set, Shlyapnikov’s side was trailing all the time. Even though they had a chance to stay in the game at the score 12:10, having a counterattack, however, Lucas Saatkamp made a huge block on Mikhailov to earn 13-10 lead… There was no space for Russia to make a comeback.

Douglas Souza was the man who knocked out the Russian team, punching the rival for the last time in this game…

Wallace de Souza had a good display, finishing the game with 22 points, while Dmitry Volkov had 23 on the other side.

World Championship, today’s schedule:

I question Russia’s fitness. They can’t finish matches. USA is hungry to take advantage of this I can bet.

Well played Brazil. Life goes on, I guess, as well as hate comments toward their players on Russian volleyball portals.
