MEVZA CUP W: Strabag and Mladost will open new season

Thursday's game between Strabag VC against Croatian Mladost Zagreb in Bratislava Dome sports will launch a new edition of the long-term competition MEVZA Cup 2018/2019.

MEVZA Cup is a competition for clubs from Central European Volleyball Zone Association (MEVZA) and is the successor of the former Central European Central League: teams from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The new MEVZA Cup will feature seven female clubs; only Slovakia and Slovenia will have two teams, the same as in the last season – the national champion STRABAG Volleyball Club Bratislava and vice-champions Slavia EU Bratislava from Slovakia and Calcit Kamnik Volley and Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR from Slovenia.

Final Four tournament will be on February 23-24, 2019.

Slovakia: STRABAG Volleyball Club Bratislava and Slavia EU Bratislava 

Slovenia: Calcit Kamnik Volley and Nova KBM Branik MARIBO 

Czech: VK UP Olomouc 

Hungary: Linamar-Békéscsabai RSE 

Croatia: Mladost Zagreb
