Serbia played the whole match without Tijana Boskovic because coach Terzic wanted to rest her while on the other side, the Dutch girls were very motivated. With good serve they made a real mess for the Serbian reception and that was the key for the win.

Statistically, the Netherlands scored only 8 clear aces but they moved Serbian reception especially in the second set that they couldn’t organize any action. In one moment the result in the second set was 20-7 for the Netherlands.

Also, the winners were better in the block (11-6) and in attack (37-21) and Lonneke Sloetjes was the best scorer of the match with 23 points followed by Anne Buijs 11 points. On the Serbian side, Brankica Mihajlovic scored 10 points and Milena Rasic 8 points. Serbian opposite Ana Bjelica who replaced Boskovic during the whole match scored poor 6 points.

The Netherlands finished this stage of the competition in the top position.
