WCH 2018 W: Brazil finished participation at World Championship

After they won two sets against Brazil, Japan secured the spot at Final Six at the FIVB World Championship and until the end of the match have played for their souls.

At the end of the match, the result was 3-2 (23-25, 16-25, 28-26, 25-21, 15-11) for Brazil who after the match said goodbye to the World Championship.

From 1994 when Brazil won their first medal (silver) at the WCH, this will be the second time that they will not play in the Final round. In the previous edition they won a bronze medal while two consecutive times before that, they were silver.

Tandara was the best scorer in Brazil as usual with 24 points while Sarina Koga scored 23 points for Japan.

Dominican Republic – Germany 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-17)

Serbia – Netherlands 0-3 (16-25, 12-25, 20-25)

Brazil – Japan 3-2 (23-25, 16-25, 28-26, 25-21, 15-11)

Standings: Netherlands (8-1) 24, Japan (7-2) 22, Serbia (7-2) 21, Brazil (7-2) 20, Dom. Republica (5-4) 16, Germany (5-4) 14, Puerto Rico (3-6) 9, Mexico (1-8) 3.
